Gospel of Thomas

MicroGuy | January 18, 2009

The Gospel of Thomas was recommended to me during a conversation with my dentist. Below is an except from a BBS presentation on the lost gospels. This is one of numerous “Gnostic Gospels” that date back to very early Christianity. This entire program is available here.

Steve Jobs’ Health

MicroGuy | January 14, 2009

It was distressing to hear the news come over the TwitterFox wire that Steve Jobs has taken a medical leave of Absence from Apple until July.  Apparently his health, the specifics of which are closely guarded, has taken a turn. Here’s hoping that Steve makes a full and speedy recovery.

Red Shoes

MicroGuy | January 1, 2009

This video features Travis Lawrence from “Stanton” and Heather Cole singing “Red Shoes”. It’s “positively” worth a look for the happy factor. The lead vocal and harmonies are just more icing on the cake. This video will make you smile. Enjoy!

A Sunday Adventure

MicroGuy | December 31, 2008

On Sunday, the family and I will be taking a trip to Newberry, SC to visit the Clayton Memorial Church, a UU (Unitarian Universalist) church with a rich and interesting 100-year history.

The building was constructed by two brothers in 1905 and It still sits among the fields of the original family farm. For many years, church members received spiritual sustenance from circuit riding preachers who made their rounds on horseback.

His Coolness

MicroGuy | December 30, 2008

I just discovered that The Dalai Lama has a website. This looks like a super resource for learning about His Holiness. Is it possible that he will one day open an account on Twitter? That would be awesome! Oh, I almost forget the website is http://www.dalailama.com.

Seth Avett “Mary”

MicroGuy |

Seth Avett sings “Mary” which I believe is a Langhorne Slim tune. The vocals on this recording are superbly magical. I just got word that The Avetts are playing live at this very moment in Asheville, North Carolina which is only two hours away. And it’s too late for me to make the show. Frown.

Strange but Kewl?

MicroGuy | December 27, 2008

The Neil Youngish O’death sings “Home” while perched atop rocks, oceanside. I just found this recording and since my blog is under a cut and paste flood, I figured why not. Yes I know, it’s only rock and roll but I like it.

Talk On Indolence

MicroGuy |

What the heck, it’s my website right? My sister says this music is “Secular”. I love my sister, but I think we need more Avett Brothers. Enjoy!
