It’s very interesting to see this domain dropping.

This is one of those rare occasions where a premium .TV may be worth the ransom. I believe that if the new registrant were creative, he could avoid any TM problems. It’s also possible that Court TV may pull out that big checkbook and make the new owner an offer he can’t refuse.

Update: The powers that be just jacked the price up on this domain from $500 per year, to $15,000 per year. The photo to the left accurately expresses my feelings toward “the powers”.

I received an email yesterday from a company preparing to add .TV to their current drop list offerings. Interest in this area is on the rise, and now there will be three sources for .TV pending deletes. On average, there are only three or four good domains dropping each week and the competition for these domains is on the rise. Tonight I’ve found one gem worth chasing and will have at least 4 or 5 others trying to catch the same domain. I’ll try to avoid an interception.

Verisign must be growing tired of Demand Media’s mishandling of the .TV extension. It appears they have a new deal brewing with Dotster for registration of dot tv domains. This is the most exciting news I’ve seen since Current.tv won an Emmy award in 2007.  I was just about ready to write off .TV but now there appears to be a glimmer of hope. If Verisign can get a deal done with Tuvalu that extends their contract past 2012, we might, just might, have a winner in Dot TV!

It’s about bedtime and Ahead.tv has not released the daily drop list. In 4 hours, there will be around 200 .TV domains dropping and maybe one or two really, really good ones. It takes about 30 minutes to review the list and make my picks and then another hour or two to prepare the drop team. There may be a great domain dropping but I’m going to give up and get to bed, 6:00am comes early. Goodnight.

Demand Media found someone willing to pay $10,000 per year for VACATIONS.TV. Well the poor guy has had enough and decided to quit paying the ransom.  There are still a few .TV believers, and I agree there still remains a glimmer of hope. But the number of people willing to pay 10K for a .TV domain renewal is dwindling.  If you would like a high-tech way of flushing money down the toilet, you can grab this premium dot tv domain anytime after 4:00 EST tomorrow morning. 

My pick for today is GORY.TV. It should be dropping around 4:00am and you will need a script to have any chance of catching this one. I will catch this domain for $25.00 + Reg Fee using my drop catching network.
