Here’s an interesting article on the biggest TLD blunders of all time. I think he missed .TRAVEL.
“Because of its bad reputation, the name has received almost no recognition from the Internet community. No website on a .info domain is taken seriously by anyone. And considering the goal of most sites is to provide information to begin with, isn’t “.info” a bit redundant?”
“..the registrars are the dealers, dealing in hope and letter grouping highs. Don’t let these virtual crack dealers sell you their domain drugs.” – MicroGuy
My experiment: I have listed seven domains for sale on the Bido platform. Each domain is scheduled one day apart. My first auction starts on Thursday with a new domain each day continuing into the latter part of next week. Here are the first three:
RegisterBird is down, are they out?
This new domain registrar RegisterBird.com has been down for nearly 48 hours. The new registrar was unique in that is accepted Namepros dollars as a form of payment. According to the site owner the problem is being addressed and they should be back up soon. However, there is no excuse why they couldn’t manage to get a simple maintenance page to load during this extended downtime. To be continued.
I’m always finding great promo codes for Godaddy. I thought my readers might enjoy these coupons as well. From now on, when I find a new Godaddy coupon I will add it to the comment section of this post. If you have a coupon code that’s not listed, please add it to the comments. Happy domain registering!
The .TV forum infamous for excluding any voice with an objective opinion is now out of business. It looks like the cheerleading squad has finally pulled the plug on the .TV Cheerfest™. Goodbye Development.TV and don’t let the virtual door hit you in your virtual ass on the way out.
I’ve been using Godaddy’s auction platform (formally known at TDNAM) since it started a couple of years ago. The thing that amazes me is the consistent sluggishness of the website. My browser often times out when browsing the domain listings. WTF? Not only is TDNAM website slow, everything Godaddy publishes is slow. Try logging in to the Domain Control Center sometime to update a DNS setting when you’ve only got five minutes to spare. Good luck! Come on Godaddy hire a decent IT guy who can get your servers running instead of jogging/walking.
I decided to give Whypark™ a try today.
Their solution is designed for domainers looking for an alternative to conventional domain parking. The Whypark system includes many features unavailable with conventional parking including: customizable content, choice in add providers, custom pages, rss feeds, custom images, etc. Basically it’s a customizable revenue-generating mini-site platform designed to maximize domain revenue. I find the front-end interface efficient easy-to-use. There is also a good discussion here about Whypark. I will report additional findings as my site statistics become available.
The website of the domain registrar Dynadot appears to be down. If anyone has additional information please post in comment section. Thank you.
